Julie Grimes

Julie Grimes is the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at the Ecclesial School, serving both Saint Alban’s and Northland campuses. At the Ecclesial School, Julie will be deeply involved in the school’s curriculum with a particular focus in streamlining and maintaining consistency of classical delivery, execution, and best practices across all content areas and grade levels at both campuses for the Initiative. She will also be involved in the Ecclesial School’s curriculum by aligning the Initiative’s already existing scope and sequences to Florida’s state standards, such as the B.E.S.T standards in mathematics and English language arts, as well as the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for science.

Shortly after receiving her degree in Elementary Education at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, Julie became actively involved in classical education. For over twenty-five years, Mrs. Grimes has gained classical experience in both private and charter school sectors as a classroom teacher, coach, and administrator. Julie first began her journey in classical education at a start-up classical charter school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she served for nearly ten years. She spent an additional ten years at Christ Classical Academy, in Tallahassee, Florida, as well as time at The Geneva School, in Winter Park, Florida.

Over her many years in classical schools, Mrs. Grimes has cultivated a deep respect and passion specifically for classical pedagogical practices. This is largely due not only to the consistency of positive student outcomes across classical school campuses nation-wide, but also for the ability to nurture a scholar’s true joy for discovery and wonder, richly increase their knowledge and understanding of the world around them, develop their discernment, all while deepening their love for their creator in the process. She believes classical education is indeed a beautiful, unique gift like no other.

Julie Grimes, along with her husband Jon, moved to Melbourne Beach during the summer 2024, which happily caters to her ongoing love for the outdoors, specifically the ocean. She is an avid, amateur black and white photographer, her bookshelves are increasingly filled with quality children’s books, loves roaming art galleries, and enjoys studying art history. Before moving to Melbourne Beach, Julie was actively involved at her local church in Tallahassee, Four Oaks Community Church. She is excited about finding her new church home, beachside.
